  Never, never was 100% in

  over 40 yrs baptized, service, builds, talks and talks and talks that i put countless hours of prep into, elder, meetings, assemblies,----you all know.

  but through it all i never bought the whole truth idea 100%.

  no matter what it was, meeting, service, assemblies, i just couldn't wait for it to end.

  I'm right there with ya, DREADED all aspects of it, Hub tried to make me feel"guilty" saying I just didnt "try" hard enough to embrace it, Ummmm I didnt want to try any harder because it was such a DRAG!!! BBS

  Stay At Home Moms/Dads

  i have a 3 and 1 year old.

  hubby is a stay at home dad and i take care of the bills.

  i have to, cause instead of working on his career when he was younger, he decided to pioneer- that is something that now i have to pay the price for which really sucks.. i feel that since i pay the bills, it's his job to cook and do all of the cleaning.

  Oh and by the way on my lists, I did not write things like, "you must do" or "This has to be done" or"do not forget"....I would always write things like"Could you please", "dont you think this would be good?" or"I would so appreciate it" for example as far as dinner, you could give him some ideas and say things like, that was so good last time you made it, sounds soooo good for tonight!! He may be suffering from some real low self esteem issues, so when he does do stuff you appreciate, LET HIM KNOW!!

  I dont remember the author, but I know my daughter bought a book titled "The Lazy Husband" It actually had alot of good info. and suggestions, I was also wondering if you have tryed making "lists" for him, some guys need that, When I use to say to my husband, "I'm writing you a list of things that need to be done" he did not appreciate it and would make comments like "I'm not your child", I dont need your lists. So I nixed that idea for awhile, i then started not "telling" him I was going to leave a list for him, but just writing it and leaving it on the counter, Wow did that make a difference, he would work on it as much as possible and put a line through what he completed, and I could tell he appreciated the reminders on the list....Just some ideas for what their worth.   Fun, fun, fun, seriously I had some of the best times in my life when I was deep in, Good parties(lots of good parties) shopping trips, ski trips, vacationing together,(lots of parties, JW's know how to do drink it up) mostly with a wonderfulf friend....funny, back than we rarely talk about the religion, rarely, but when she found out I no longer believed, that I was done, she was gone, gone gone!!

  hi all, i'm a long time lurker, ready to join in and add my two cents worth now and then!

  i was in the religion for 25 years, out now for 8, along with my husband, daughter, and son!

  i would have to say pretty much the whole time i was in i didnt want to be, pretty much "dreaded" all aspects of it, meetings, service, assemblies, and talks, i hated talks, man o man would i be grouchy the whole week i had a scheduled talk.. we didnt have much family in, but lots of friends and many jw employees, pretty much lost all that, down to just one jw employee left(thats a good thing).

  Thank-You Phizzy and Reopened Mind. My son is in therapy and is on medication, He really is a very bright young man, He graduated honors and has certification in Vascular Sonography, worked in that field for a couple years, but the depression and PTSD just caught up with him and he crashed bad, very very sad, but he's trying to work his way back, hes actually on disability right now and in a Voc. rehab program. Amazing, when he finished school he was sought after in his field, got hired by one of the Imaging Companies in the area and made 80k his first year, now I would just be so proud of him if he could just find work, enjoy work and learn to live again, he wouldnt matter what he made or did.......and Yes I too am in therapy and it has helped a ton! BBS

  Yes Cobalt, I agree, I would think anyone that has been in for any length of time is going to suffer some sort of PTSD, My son has it very badly, My "Blackbird Singing" name is the song dedicated to him from me in the pursuit of helping him get better and start living the life he so deserves!! BBS

  Thank-You all for the Welcomes, I do appreciate it, I hope that i can be of help to others, Sometimes it feels surreal that were out, I never in a million years thought my husband would leave also!! The last 8 years have not been all rosy thats for sure, lots of adjustments and searching but were getting there.....Thanks Again, BBS
